July 6th, 7th & 8th – 2012
The Tour de Delta is a timed stage race that consists of three exciting events that cover North Delta, Ladner and the Tsawwassen areas that make up the City of Delta.
MK Delta Criterium – July 6th
The North Delta Criterium is a 1.3 km loop around the social heart of North Delta. The course will offer the spectators the opportunity to see the athletes for a large portion of each lap as they will pass by 40-50 times. The course has a fast downhill section going into an open left hand turn that will see the riders hit speeds of more than 70km/hr. The finish of the race will also be exciting to watch as the athletes will only have less than 100m out of the final corner of the race to sprint to the line.
Brenco Criterium – July 7th
The excitement continues to mount as this famous Criterium is second up set in the historic fishing village of Ladner. This event is sure to excite all who attend as cyclists manipulate the tight, fast corners of the downtown core. In 2010 we celebrated our 10-Anniversery at this event and the spectators enjoyed the racing so much that they gave a $2,500 crowed prime to the Pro event.
White Spot Road Race – July 8th
The weekend culminates with a challenging Road Race. This stage incorporates strength, precision & endurance. The men’s race is a point to point event that commences in North Delta, incorporates the flat, windy farmland of the Fraser River Delta, and meets up with the women on the bluffs of Tsawwassen for a frantic sprint finish.
