Trek Red Truck Racing announces BC Superweek riders

Trek Red Truck Racing p/b Mosaic Homes Gears Up for BC Superweek and the Global Relay Gastown Grand Prix

The Trek Red Truck Racing Team, along with presenting sponsor Mosaic Homes, is proud to be racing Canada’s biggest cycling series, BC Superweek, and will field its largest team ever at this year’s races in Delta, Vancouver, Burnaby, and White Rock, British Columbia.

‘TRT Racing’, as the team is known to those on the west coast, is celebrating its 20th year supporting young, up-and-coming riders from across Canada. The team’s unique focus on supporting athletes pursuing higher education puts them in a prime position to attract top talent from across BC and Alberta.

For 2014, that talent includes new recruits Michael van den Ham and Kinley Gibson from Edmonton, who will be two riders to watch throughout the week.

As if racing in front of their local crowd wasn’t enough motivation, the women’s team will also be chasing the largest women’s criterium prize purse on offer in North America, with over $25,000 in prize money on the line.

“Gastown is a special race, the crowds, the cash, the unrelenting course, it all adds up to one of the biggest, and most exciting, challenges we face all year,” says women’s team captain Leah Guloien. “It truly is every rider’s dream to win that race and we’ll be fighting hard for that top spot on the podium.”

Coming off of a stellar start to the season that most recently saw both the men’s and women’s team claim top honours at the Banff Bike Fest, the team is gearing up to fight it out with the best in North America for BC Superweek victories.

Together with team sponsor Allstream, the Trek-Red Truck p/b Mosaic homes racing team will be out in full force, with a special warm-up area right along the course.
